[ad_1]

Hey You bloggers we are back again with amazing interview. As part of our BloggersIdeas interview series, today we have Ankit Singla from BloggerTipsTricks.com & Techclicko who have Over 1.5 years experience in affiliate, SEO, search, social and content marketing for small businesses. He will be answering various questions related to Digital Media & other Internet Marketing stuffs . So lets start with the interview.

Ankit-SIngla Interview

Can you tell us something about your blogging journey. How and when did you enter into blogging? And who are your blogging role models?

I came to know about blogging 4 years back after attending a seminar on ‘Make money with Google Adsense’. I did a lot of research on it and create my first blog in year 2010.

I can’t say who is my blogging role model because I started blogging only because of my interest.

What are your top favorite 3 tools for managing social media campaigns and why ?

Yes, I use the world’s largest Social Media tool and that’s Facebook..My campaigns are running through facebook. After making every post I market them with Facebook Fan pages and Facebook Groups.Where I get More Targeted traffic which can easily boost my blog engagement and sales.

Do you Pinterest for your business, what kind of pinterest tools you use.

I’ve heard that pinterest is one of the growing social media but the major problem with pinterest is that about 80% of the users are Womens. I’m not saying that womens are not interested in blogging and make money stuffs but in pinterest most of them I found out is recipe lovers. So I’m not concentrating much on Pinterest. As I already said I love targeted traffic.

If you are familiar with Internet marketing what kind of tactics you use for your blog reader engagement.

I’m not that much familiar with internet marketing like what others do. But with my potential I make around $800/Month. This may sound low or great, anyway I use a single tactic. “Collect the Trust of My Readers” Actually I don’t even like disturbing or irritating my readers .

Before placing a single ad or a pop-up box I think twice. Grabbing daily readers is difficult job in my point of view. Seeking their attention is also one of the difficult things. Only hard work can make this thing’s happen in the right manner. So I work hard to make my readers happy and as a regard they believe the products I recommend then finally a good amount of Income I get out of it.

That’s the real tactic I use.

What Is Your SEO Super Power?

The answer for this Question may sound weird but to be honest I don’t do that much of Off Page SEO, I mostly concentrate on ON Page SEO. I’ve some common strategies in Onpage SEO and I do use SEO pressor plugin.

As I said I don’t care much on off page SEO but Social Media Optimization is one of my weakness and I think I’m doing good with it.But the best thing I’ve found out is that I get some good organic traffic with my current strategies. So that’s my Super Power.

How Do You Conduct An SEO Experiment?

Experiments??! Oh God this one remembers me my old blogging times. Really I was a scientist who does all the experiments and fails on it. When I was a newbie I’ve done many foolish experiments maybe that’s why I’m making some decent money now.

But don’t think that I’m an expert now, according to my point of view there are no experts in blogging as the blogging system is changing day by day.

Anyway coming to my point, now at the current blogging journey I’m not doing any experiments. It’s not because I’m a big blogger but really I don’t have time for doing these kinds of experiments.

And when I think there is a need of experiments I’ll surely do that but I love my blog a lot and I’m not ready to take big risks on that.

What kind of SEO Tools Do You Use And Why?

Yeah! Just like other blogger’s out there in the blogosphere I also use some SEO tools. The main SEO tool I use is Keyword Planner and Long Tail Pro. Even though both are keyword research tools I feel comfortable when I’m using both. The purpose of using it is quite simple; to survive in this SEO sea I need them.

Keyword research is one the important thing I do and if you find the best keyword then you just need to write the content with some On page SEO. It will surely boost your rank. Good rank is equal to good quality blog. Between I also use the SEO pressor plugin to analyze my OnPage SEO.

What blogs do you read? Tell me about an article you recently read that stuck out to you.

I Normally read some blogs which are on blogging niche and as well as some other niches too.

Especially I love reading ShoutMeLoud and enstinemuki.com and Aha-now also especially I get attracted to a title I will never miss reading it .And here is one the title that attracted me www.aha-now.com/make-money-blogging-online/

A client asks you to build a strategic plan for their website. What steps would you go through?

A Strategic plan for a Website. Yes, if someone comes like that, I will ask some questions to them which will be related to their company and finally I’ll make a market watch of that company and its online competitors. After finishing these jobs I can suggest them with different strategy and they really differ with the type of the company.

What are the Secrets of Affiliate Marketing and are you associated with any kind of affiliates.

There are no secrets in my affiliate marketing. But as I said the super secret is gaining trust and If I made $100 from affiliate sales it’s just because of the trust I’ve with my readers. I use some hosting affiliate program which yields me a good income to make my living.

Hostgator is one of the best affiliate program I use and other affiliate programs like Bluehost, Shareasale, Clickbank etc. To be honest affiliate programs are really cool if you have some readers’ trust, so it’s time to build it up.

Do you use Blackhat SEO tactics in a white hat way. Like scrapebox …

Black Hat SEO is something scary in my point of view, because when I try it there is a chance for getting ban from Google. So I’ve decided to not try it and why Should I. Between I don’t really know about using Blackhat tricks in the whitehat way. I’ve heard that ScrapeBox is good and I’m going to give it a try sooner.

What are your biggest client hurdles?

“Client Hurdles” A bit confusing question, to be frank I don’t accept all the client requests but while managing my clients I had this feeling like one in the Olympics. In some cases it makes me feel funny. Yeah really when my clients are asking me to teach them about a thing which I’m not familiar with I get a mini heart attack.

But I won’t give up I’ll manage them with some stuffs and will learn about what they asked finally deliver them a worthy answer. I think this is a good way to learn new things.

On Optimizing a Site – Briefly Tell us what a Search-friendly Site Looks Like?

Actually a Search Engine Friendly website should look like a plain and bad looking one..!! Just kidding but there are some facts in that, if you are designing a well looking website managing headings etc. for good SEO is a difficult job on the other hand it’s kind of easy in a plain theme. But to survive in the current market we need looks.

According to me the first priority is readers if the readers are comfortable with the website looks then Google also likes that because Google is more interested in the comfortability of the users. So better keep a design which is comfortable with readers and I’m sure Google also likes that.

On Google – Tell me about the Latest Changes at Google ?

Yeah As I’m reading some blogs as I said, I’ve noticed some changes. I can say two of them – You’ll get Ad penalty if you place ad above the fold.  2. Guest Blogging For SEO is Kind of Dead. That’s for new.

Is Author Rank is the latest technique of off page SEO ? Do you think Google give preference to this ?

Yes, Ofcourse Google gives preference to it. If you have more Google+ followers you can get good rankings. And I don’t think this is a new update it’s here since some years. Whatever, try to build some followers it will really help in case of traffic and rank.

What Are Your Relationship Building and Outreach Skills?

As I said earlier building trust and relationship is behind my success and I won’t take a single decision which hurts or make feel like bad for my readers. Just like others I also reply to the comments interact with them through social media but the best part of it is that when you are recommending them the right thing then there is more chance for them to reach success there you earn real trust and it’s a best way to boost your sales, really I believe in that I hope that’s my Outreaching Skill.

Do You Share Your Strategies Transparently With the SEO Community?

Yes, I do! Because I never forget the way I came through. Once I was also a newbie and I really know the difficulty in learning blogging as well as SEO. Especially learning SEO without some help is really untolerable. So I arrange some group chats, Share some SEO tips and Of course through personal chatting also I help them at my maximum.

Do you have any Questions to ask, Do you have more  Marketing Strategies to share. So go on share in the comments below !!!

Dont forget to share this awesome interview in social media. I will be pleased if you share this now !!! Cheers!!! Join BloggersIdeas on FacebookGoogle+ & Twitter ?

Interview with Kulwant Nagi of Bloggingcage

[ad_1]

If you are in Blogging then you must have heard about Kulwant Nagi from Haryana. I am very happy that Kulwant had answered all the questions very kindly. He had inspired me a lot. I always read his latest posts on his blog and I must say he is very proficient blogger . He always share his best techniques to his readers. I hope I tried my level best to ask questions to him and he delivered his best.

So Lets start with interview !!!

Kulwant-Nagi Interview

Please introduce you to my blog readers? Explain who are you apart from blogging life?

I am from a small city Fatehabad in Haryana, India. I am a normal human being with abnormal dreams. I started blogging in September 2011 with the intention to generate some leads for my multi level marketing business but soon it turned into blogging.
I am a beauty lover who loves perfection. I believe in pleasing people with neat and eye catching things. This can be clearly seen in my blog themes, all are neat and clean.
I am a die-hard music lover and love to dance my fingers on my laptop with music beats.

Please define terms “blogging” and “make money from a blog” your experience on them.

See everyone starts blogging with the intention to make money online only (in 80% of the cases). I also started blogging to make money online as my dreams were so big that I couldn’t fulfill them with my job.

Very soon I found that making money from a blog is not that much easy as it seems. To make a blog successful you have to work as hard as possible.

Working Smart + Hard is the key to get success in blogging.

What are your thoughts on bloggersideas.com?

I saw your blog is not an old blog but the strategies which you are using at start will give you huge exposure in future.
I am a big lover of reading about people’s life and knowing how they got success. My favorite time pass is to stumble Entrepreneurship category on StumbleUpon.
So your approach is awesome and your readers are going to love this.

How many days you have been blogging? What do you feel about blogging?

It’s been 2 years when I started blogging. But Blogging Cage came into existence on 15th January 2012 when I moved all data from KulwantNagi.com to BloggingCage.com.
In blogging, everyone is here to make money and create his/her identity in particular fields. Some people are making less, some are making more but at the end we are on the same boat.
One thing which I am missing in blogging is a strong community. I want to see Indian bloggers making their identity at world’s platform. It’s our bad luck that no blogger from India is into core internet marketing or product launching.

How many blogs do you have? Which blogs do you follow regularly?

Currently I am managing 3 main blogs. On Blogging Cage I am writing at my own where on other blogs I have hired writers.
These days I am reading more stuff from CopyBlogger.com because I feel that I am lacking in writing. I am following such blogs to hone my writing skills.

What are your tips on traffic generation? Please reveal some must use techniques to get more traffic to new blogs?

Getting traffic depends on niche to niche. If you are in entertainment niche then you can build a Facebook Page and on regular basis you can share some interesting pics on your wall. Most of the times people love such interesting pics and they share them on their walls. So you can generate hell lots of traffic on your blog.
If you are into tech niche then you will have to do proper keyword research to find great keywords. These are the keywords which are getting searched by people, so you can write quality stuff around them and get good traffic from search engines.

Read: How I Attracted 173,509 Visitors On My 3 Months Old Blog

For a new blog you will have to connect with more people. You can start this with Facebook and Google Plus. These are many groups on Facebook and many communities on Google Plus, so you can share your article on regular basis in these groups and communities.

How to get prepared for next Google updates and stay safe?

To be frank – No one has exact answer for this question. As we can see in previous updates of Google, they want quality stuff and want to deliver exact information with high quality to end users.
Some cases studies on big blogs revealed that writing long articles would be the only key for long team survival. Start writing quality stuff on your blog forget about doing any Keyword Stuffing. Soon you will start getting good results and Google will love your blog forever.

What is secret of your success?

I don’t consider myself as a successful person.
Success is something which cannot be achieved; you will have to continue your work to make it more powerful.
In short – Success is a Journey, not Destination.
As I already told I am a big fan of reading about people and learning from their life experience. So this simple activity is making be better person every day.

Could you tell us best way to earn money online even for new blogs?

For a brand new blog it might be little tough, but once you have a blog atleast 3-4 months old and having 50+ articles written on it then you can monetize it.
I used the method to contact advertisers, where I was sending mails to each advertiser personally and requesting them to buy paid review on my blog. For a newbie this activity was not a shame or sinful because I wanted my survival and I did it very well.

Best recommended ON Page SEO techniques?

Here are few things which you can keep in mind.

  • Make sure you have written 500+ words article.
  • Include your main keyword in H1, H2 and H3 tag in the article.
  • Try including your main keyword in bold, italic and underline.
  • Include your main keyword in first 50-100 and last 50-100 words.

These are few methods which are working great for me.

How to attract new bloggers to new blog as you did in commenting and traffic?

In starting days I used to do lots of comments and made relations with many awesome bloggers. If you want traffic from comments then you will have to write EPIC comments, because such comments stand out in the crowd and people feel curious to read that particular blog.

Only commenting cannot drive traffic if you are not doing it in proper way.

Do you use Black hat SEO tactics in a white hat way? Like Scrapebox.

Yes, I am using Scrapebox, but I am using it in white hat way. People use this tool for bulk commenting and then get too many backlinks in a short time. I am using this tool to find links from relevant blogs and then comment on those blogs manually.

Do you think 3rd party blog post links and eBook submissions are playing vital role these days?

As I said, “Google wants Quality.”
If you are mentioning some great authority links in your article then it seems normal to Google. Even I did study on few high ranking keyword and found that those all were having one or two high authority links included in their article.
High authority links here I mean WikiPedia, Mashable, TechCrucnh, LifeHacker, Engadget and many other big blogs.

Do You Share Your Strategies Transparently With the SEO Community?

I shared everything which I know.
I am still a learner and haven’t done anything big till the time, but still I believe in being transparent. If you are teaching everything honestly then people will start loving your blog and every time they will come back to visit you blog with the intention to learn something new.

What is your message for my reader?

I will just say – Keep working hard to achieve your goals. There will be many obstacles on the way, people will try to demotivate you, society will hate you and there will be many things which will stop you to go ahead.
If your heart says that you are doing work honestly and you are dedicated for your goals, then don’t listen to anybody.
After some time your work and success will speak and those people will feel stop uttering.

All the very best for your blogging career and keep working hard to contribute your part in this world.

How to Use Social Media & Actionable SEO Tips : Interview with Ann Smarty

[ad_1]

As part of our Bloggers Ideas interview series, Ann Smarty  of InternetMarketingNinjas discusses how to use social media for marketing and figured out how to get links from difficult sources. Ann Smarty also writes for some of the top Online Marketing sites like SEOmoz, Mashable, Social Media Examiner and many more! I know  This interview is rather long, but is worth for all bloggers & webmasters ! Thanks so much to Ann Smarty for spending the time to answer all of my questions!

Ann smarty Interview

Please introduce you to my blog readers? Explain who are you apart from blogging life?

I am founder of MyBlogGuest, the free community of guest bloggers preaching high-quality guest posting. I am also community manager at Internet Marketing Ninjas and co-founder of Viral Content Buzz.

My oldest site is SEOsmarty.com which is my personal SEO blog. That’s the blog that built my brand!

Please define terms “blogging” and “money making from a blog” your experience on them?

Wow, a tough one! Blogging means creating useful content regularly and sharing it with your audience. The content can be anything you have any expertise or interest in. For example, I started my blog when I was learning SEO and the main aim was to organize and apply the new things I was learning!

“Money making from a blog” is any way you can monetize your site (which I’ve never been too successful at).

What are your tips on traffic generation? Please reveal some must use techniques to get more traffic to new blogs?

The first step is to create content. It should be very unique (and I don’t mean just original). The content of a good blogger reflects his/her personality, taste and voice. If every new blogger just spent first 2-3 months of blogging just finding their voice and working on research and content creation, the web would have been a much better place!

Promoting and generating traffic comes next when you already have good content live. I’d suggest trying ViralContentBuzz.com as we are doing our best to generate valuable social media shares for your content!

Recommended: Importance of Social Media

How to get prepared for next Google updates and stay safe? What resources you read to stay updated?

I read and contribute to Threadwatch, I am also quite active at SEOchat. Those two would give any newbie a good update on what is going on in SEO world without too much cluttering.

As for getting ready… if you are honest to yourself and if you are putting high-quality content online, there’s not much you should be doing to get prepared. The only thing probably is to make sure you can filter FUD (filter, uncertainty, doubt) from real news and keep sanity!

Which social sharing sites your prefer and how to get more traffic from them?

Historically I am most active on Twitter. The best way to get results from Twitter is to participate in Twitter chats. TwChat is highly recommended for that as you can add favorite Twitter chats to bookmarks and use the calendar to plan your week!

What are your top favorite 3 tools for managing social media campaigns and why?

  • Social media signals + Authorship: This tool allows me to quickly copy-paste my recent articles and measure their impact.
  • Tweetdeck because it lets me tweet and interact while still actually working: I love the desktop updates and I have learned to read them without any sacrifice to my productivity
  • Commun.it I love the reports there and the easy dashboard to track interactions.

Do you Pinterest for your business, what kind of Pinterest tools you use?

I am not using Pinterest too much apart from pinning images I like (basically I don;t have enough time to make the most of it).

I did cover some Pinterest tools here.

How Do You Conduct An SEO Experiment & What you do when you get your client’s project. First thing you would do is?

I don’t do too much experimenting these days as they tale time and I don’t have much.

The first thing I do when looking at the website is Google cache.

What kind of SEO Tools you are using right now.  Can you tell us?

Ironically, not many (“Ironically” because I write more on them than I actually manage to use) – mainly because I am not doing to much of SEO these days.

Here are a few:

Do you use Blackhat SEO techniques in a white hat SEO way, Like scrapebox  & Xenu’s Link Sleuth…

I have never considered myself a black (even gray) hat SEO. However they say white hat SEO actually doesn’t exist ?

I have used Xenu but only for “white” reasons ?

Do you think 3rd party blog post links and eBook submissions are playing vital role these days? How to use these opportunities?

Of course it works! I believe in guest blogging and eBook marketing. Both boost your content marketing efforts and build your assets.

On Reporting – What Kind of Reports do you Give to your Clients?

I am not doing reporting these days – All i am doing is basically blah-blah-blah (the fancier word is community management:))

On Social Media – What Kind of Things have you Done on the Social Side?

When it comes to social media, I don’t think there is such a thing as “Done”. It’s a continuous never-ending process. I did a Slideshare presentation on what I am actually doing:

What kind of Content Marketing tactics you are using to  increase user engagement? Why landing pages are playing important for increasing conversion rates?

My most successful content marketing tactic is a smart and creative re-packaging. You can turn text into an image, PowerPoint deck, video, etc. this opens up the whole new world of marketing channels (which you couldn’t have used with just text). I believe in this tactic and I think it adds value to the web while adding variety to your marketing tactics:

Re-package

I hope you learned a lot from Blogging expert Ann Smarty. Dont forget to share this article in social media! You can also Join BloggersIdeas on Facebook & Google+ for getting similar updates.

I know This interview is rather long, but is worth for all bloggers & webmasters !

karan

First of all please introduce yourself to my readers and tell me about your blogging career. Why did you choose blogging?

Hi! Myself Karan Singh Chauhan as an 20 years old engineering student and a part time blogger as well. Blogging is my passion and I jumped into it in late 2010 just for fun and to increase my popularity worldwide. At that time, I was in 12th class as a non-medical student. I had a lot of knowledge about Computer in the field of basics, software, hardware and web designing etc because from 6th class he started doing extra courses of it. And from this, my life changed dramatically and gets involved in the world of Blogging. Giving Special thanks to my God and Blogger (WordPress later on) which gives me the platform to express myself in front of the whole world by choosing this way Out.

2.) What is the focus of your blog and why did you choose that niche?

I blog and the owner of Blogging Ways which is a popular How to Blog, SEO and Make Money Online Site found in 2012 under the guidelines of famous experts like Mohammed Mustafa of MBT. Our blog aims at providing quality articles related to SEO, Make Money Online, Blogging tips, WordPress tricks, Social Media News and Web Hosting tips. I choose this niche as it attracts me and had a lot of scope in the future. Also I had too much interest in Making Money and Search Engine Optimization.

What type of wordpress plugins you are using to supercharge your blog.

Well Currently I am using 40+ plugins at my blog. For supercharging my blog, I use W3 total cache, jetpack, Akismet, SEOPressor and many more plugins like this.

Recommended:  20 Best wordPress Plugins

What are the best wordpress themes you would suggest to bloggers.

Actually I only believe in Genesis Framework and all its supported themes. I choose Genesis themes because they all are well structured, nicely coded, SEO optimized, lots of inbuilt features, looks awesome and less loading time of them. Therefore I suggest switching to Genesis at only 59$ one time and child themes at 19$. Another good themes include thesis, Elegant Themes etc.

Your blog is running on which hosting services , which hosting service you would recommend.

Currently My blog was hosted on Indian Web Hosting Company named as BIGROCK and soon I am going to switch to BlueHost because it’s the best WordPress hosting solutions providers ever and recommended by most of the bloggers online. Apart from it, its customer support is damn good!

What are different ways to increase facebook likes ? How can you increase twitter engagement. Please tell us some tactics.

Well to increase Facebook followers, I use Facebook Page Promoter Lightbox plugin which acts like a popup box when somebody opens my site first time. On the other side, I also organize contests and giveaways on my blog to increase my Facebook engagement. For Twitter, I used to display followers buttons on my site and participate in “you scratch my back and I will yours” like websites such as Twiends etc.

What kind of social media management tools you are using for your blog and also in SEO.

I actually use Buffer App and HootSuite to manage my social media campaign. Buffer helps me to schedule my posts at any time. Apart from it, they also helps in SEO as well!

For getting traffic via LinkedIn, all you have to make your profile killer and relevant, be active and consistent, join groups, post blog articles as status and share your linkedIn profile url with your friends in circle etc. Also display LinkedIn button on your website or blog.

Are you using pinterest for your blog. What kind of tools you are using and how much traffic you get.

To be honest, I am not very much interested in using Pinterest and I just pin my post after publishing, that’s all I do. Usually I get 40-50 visitors from Pinterest.

How to decrease bounce rate of a blog.? can you suggest some methods to reduce it.

There are many online articles about decreasing your’s blog bounce rate and some of them are below that actually works-

  1. Less Loading time of blog’s theme

  2. Showing Random and Related Posts

  3. Beautiful theme and design

  4. Interlinking is must

  5. Quality Content and easy to read

What e-mail management tool should you use?

I use Aweber and Google Feedburner in order to deliver my blog posts to my readers. This helps me a lot in order to get new 500 subscribers per month. So must give a try to Aweber at only 1$.

Do people need to spend money (e.g., PPC, paid advertising, etc) to make money with affiliate marketing?

If you are an online blogger just like me, then there is no need to spend extra money on PPC or Paid Advertising. But as a business point of view, you can invest money as per your goals. Note- PPC results are temporary and disappears when you have no money so please try real SEO.

What blogs do you read in Affiliates? Tell me about an article you recently read that stuck out to you.

I only read Zacjohnson.Com to read affiliate tips from my Affiliate guru Zac Johnson. Everything comes with time and there is no such article that stuck to me for ever. Actually I read all the articles there and gain knowledge as per time.

What are the Secrets of Affiliate Marketing and are you associated with any kind of affiliates.

Well there is no such secrets, all you have to follow these guidelines below-

  1. Choosing the right product to promote.

  2. Know How to Promote it

  3. Communicate with your affiliate representative

  4. Negotiating Higher Payouts

There’s a lot of competition for marketers out there, especially established, quality marketers, how do you survive in this tough competition.

Well I only believe in writing quality articles, do not stuff keywords, follow Google guidelines, do not buy backlinks and ultimately your blog will be survived and be the top of search engines. That’s it!

What’s the best advice or tip you’ve discovered about blogging since getting started?

One thing I definitely learned is that Go slow, Go right, Go better, success will comes towards you! He He! This is my own quote, never mind. Note- If you have your own thoughts, your goal will be achieved faster. The only time you should care about what anybody else thinks, is if you’ve built up a very loyal audience who trusts you a lot.

How can readers of the blog get in touch with you? (social/blog urls)

Social Media & SEO Techniques in 2014: Interview with Julie Joyce

[ad_1]

As part of our Bloggers Ideas interview series, today we have Julie Joyce  of linkfishmedia  discussing techniques about social media engagement,  and other SEO strategies. She is proficient online marketer & Owner of the link building company Link Fish Media, Inc. and co-founder of SEO Chicks. I appreciate her time she took out for this interview.

Julie-Joyce Interview

Please introduce yourself to our readers. Can you tell us something about your blogging journey. How and when did you enter into blogging? And who are your blogging role models?

I started blogging when Lisa Myers and I began the SEO Chicks site back in 2007. We’d met in London and were chatting about the (at that time) lack of female voices in the UK industry and decided to start a site, and it just kind of took off.

I have several role models that I think are truly amazing bloggers, but I’d have to list my co-SEO Chicks first as I think they’re all amazing. I’d add Rae Hoffman and Debra Mastaler to the top of the list as I try and read everything they write. I think that Anthony Pensabene is one of the most amazing writers in the industry and I absolutely love reading his work, and I tend to read everything that Aaron Wall writes as well.

What are some examples of how you have worked to sell your ideas in collaborative environments?

The main collaboration has been with the SEO Chicks and I’ve honestly never had to sell them an idea. I think we’ve been lucky in that we all seem to get along very well and think about things in very similar ways. In terms of collaborating with clients or with other teams who work for my clients, it is difficult at times. Usually I try and make it clear why I’m proposing something and point out what could happen if they don’t listen. At that point, if they ignore me, it’s on them right?

What are your favorite social media tools ? Which tools do you prefer to use to increase user engagement?

I use Twitter to keep up with what’s going on and to promote content. I use Facebook more for personal things but I do promote content there occasionally. I’m still trying to fall in love with G+, and for the life of me, I can’t stand Pinterest. I love Viral Content Buzz for increasing user engagement mainly because it’s not just used by SEOs, so you can get a lot of good engagement from people in other industries.

Do people need to spend money (e.g., PPC, paid advertising, etc) to make money with affiliate marketing?

Unless they’re geniuses or really, really lucky, yes they do, at least initially.

Which of the following factors have an impact on the Google PageRank?

a. The total number of inbound links to a page of a web site

b. The subject matter of the site providing the inbound link to a page of a web site

c. The text used to describe the inbound link to a page of a web site

d. The number of outbound links on the page that contains the inbound link to a page of a web site .

I’ll start by saying that I don’t concern myself enough with their PR so I can’t really say what factors have an impact. In terms of importance, I think the first 3 are more important than the last one.

Mention some SEO myths you know and what the actual facts are ?

That the true measure of your site can be determined by Google’s Toolbar PageRank: it’s just not true. That links don’t matter: try having zero and ranking well today.

What do you see on the horizon for content marketing in 2014?

More bloat most likely, which is unfortunate. We keep telling people to do content marketing and sadly that means that there’s a lot of thin content out there that just dilutes everything else.

What are some of the best B2C content marketing examples that you like to reference?

Crowd sourced pieces that are updated yearly are my absolute favorite, and one stands out, which is Rae Hoffman’s yearly Link Building With The Experts piece. http://sugarrae.com/online-marketing/,link-development/.

How do I integrate content marketing in my own company?

Anytime we have a great piece of content to market, everything we do is easier. We try to build links to great content produced by our clients, but we don’t shop posts around, do article marketing, or try and get any infographics posted.

What’s the most underutilized content distribution tool?

Probably word of mouth.

How to increase your conversation rate ?

Increase engagement: when someone takes an interest or responds to something you’ve done, respond back. Thank them, further the conversation, etc. You may not see an immediate conversion increase but I do believe that it helps in the long run.

How to increase engagement on facebook page?

Ask people something. Don’t just post an article. Ask an opinion. Call people out, tag them, make them feel like you truly want to hear from them.

What’s your favorite website? Analyze it for me.

The Onion. Analyzing it? I’d give it a 10 out of 10 in everything possible. It’s hysterical. It’s subversive, it can be offensive, but it always makes me laugh.

What blogs do you read? Tell me about an article you recently read that stuck out to you.

I read the usual big ones like Search Engine Land and Search Engine Watch but I also read a lot of smaller blogs. I really love Alessio’s blog: http://www.alessiomadeyski.com/. He writes about marketing but more about just what he happens to feel like writing about, and I just love his passion for life.

Interview with Italian SEO Consultant Giuseppe Pastore

[ad_1]

As part of our BloggersIdeas interview series, today we have Intellectual SEO Consultant Giuseppe Pastore Founder of giuseppepastore.com,  He will be sharing his thoughts on SEO Marketing, Mobile Marketing & AffiliateMarketing . He is having wide experience in SEO services & have worked with many big brands. Today on bloggersideas he will sharing his knowledge on SEO.

So lets get started with Giuseppe.

Interview with SEO Consultant Giuseppe Pastore

First of all thanks a lot for accepting my interview proposal. I and my  readers are very pretty glad to have you. Please tell us about yourself and your educational background?

My pleasure to be hosted on BloggersIdeas, thanks for having invited me. I’m an Italian SEO consultant (find more at http://www.giuseppepastore.com/en/) working for either big or small companies, also in international sceneries . I arrived to SEO after a master’s degree in Electronics Engineering and having understood I was enjoying more ranking websites than projecting microcircuits.

How to do SEO for new domain. What strategies you would use for its branding?

Doing SEO on a new domain isn’t any different from working on aged one, apart the fact that you start with an unknown brand and zero links. So, given you’ve done your homework regarding onsite optimization, a big effort has to be put into building a brand (and links). A good idea in this case is investing in a linkable asset to promote (ie. a PDF guide, an infographic, a tutorial video).

You can’t outreach to blogs and websites without having something valuable to offer. Depending on the niche the “object” may differ, but the basics remain the same: give value for free to relevant sites and build relationships. Egobaiting also works well in my experience (interviews, round-ups).

What are top 5 content marketing strategies for tech bloggers, who are handling tech blogs from long time. How can they rank for high competitive keywords like Samsung S5/?

Surely not easy since for this query you’ll surely have the brand website and quite a few e-commerce sites ranking. To jump in the top ten you need a very long review and topical site trust. Regarding the content, I’d pay attention to make it a hub resource about the Samsung S5; regarding links, I think these would be the formats that would attract links the most:

  • A complete video review
  • An infographic about the evolution of the model along time
  • A Buzzfeed style post (es. 10 celebrities taking selfies with Samsung S5)
  • A controversial post (ie. Study reveals Samsung S5 is the best phone to record homemade porn)
  • A giveaway

How do you go about promoting your affiliate marketing campaigns?

When working on affiliated websites I go after low competition/middle revenue niches. Promoting affiliated websites can be hard if you’re not building a really useful resource, so in some cases I just rely on links coming from other sites of mine.

I’ve bought links as well in a few occasions. Anyway my main goal is always building an email list, first, so it’s not rare I run ads landing on a squeeze page to collect emails.

Do you mainly go for organic search traffic only or do you also run paid ads? What would you recommend to others, especially the newbies?

As I was saying, an important stream of traffic for every website should arrive from subscribers, in my opinion, and I try to push people to leave me their email with different subscription forms and landings, so along time I will not totally depend on Google for traffic.

If the topic suggests to invest in social, I also try to get fans/followers. I’ve tried Facebook ads in some occasions and they can work well.

What’s hot in the Incentive marketing world right now?

I fear this is not my field and I can’t really help on it.

What is affiliate scrubbing/shaving, and what do you think about it?

Serious problem. Affiliate scrubbing is when the Advertiser flags as invalid some regular leads and doesn’t pay the due commissions for them. Affiliate shaving, instead, is when the CPA Networks steal leads to the affiliated accounts by removing their tracking ID when sending the visitor to the Advertiser website; basically the Network keeps earnings for themselves.

Unfortunately, I’m dealing with these situation and you can’t do nothing. In my case the product is a niche one and there are no alternatives, so I can choose continue running my campaigns and earn some money or stop them and earn nothing.  If you can’t replace the product with another one, my advice is bank as much as you can but don’t invest too much in the niche.

How do I get quality affiliates to promote my own products and services?

The things you should ask yourself are:

  • Are marketing instruments I offer (banners, landings) better than my competitors’ ones?
  • Is my website easy usable so that people converts smoothly?
  • Are commissions I offer as good as competitors’ ones?
  • Do my products have a market/research volume?

If your answers aren’t always yes, chances exist your affiliated program will fail, moreover if publishers can choose similar products to promote. I’d pay a lot of attention of the entire conversion path from banners to landing to pricing, more than to commissions. If something is easy to be sold, even with lower commissions is more appealing than other options.

What Internet marketing sites do you read regularly?

I use to read SearchEngineLand.com but I mostly stay updated via Twitter (I just follow a few people whose shared links I’m interested in).

Have you attended any SEO conferences. Please tell us how did you interact with fellow internet marketers?

I’ve attended twice SMX Milan, and a few other Italian events. I’ve had the chance to know several people there and meet people I’ve sometimes chatted on Twitter with. In some cases I tweeted them I would have been there and would loved to say hello before or after their speech; in other ones I just presented myself: when you share an interest it’s easy to keep the conversation flowing.

What Internet marketing areas are you weak and strong in? Provide examples of both.

I’m quite T-shaped, being able to move across SEO, Content marketing, Social, Web Analytics and Conversion Rate Optimization, anyway I think I do my best at technical SEO. I usually do consulting on large sites (e-commerce, big news websites) and it’s quite frequent I can greatly grow traffic by just fixing technical issues.

I’m not good at paid as I don’t often manage paid campaigns.

What do you feel are some of the most important factors to ranking high in the organic results?

  • Optimized site architecture
  • Long and detailed content
  • Relevant Links

But pay attention to the increasing importance of quality metrics (social shares, no bounce to SERPs, good mobile UX).

Have you ever built backlinks? If you have, what kind of strategies do you implement for backlinks? What do you think about link buying, link bait, bookmarks, social links, and other specific backlink strategies?

I’ve done almost everything. In the early years I used to use directories, guest-books, comments, forums, article marketing, bookmarking, paid links. Then I shifted to guest posting and then to egobaiting, broken link building, infographic promotion, content marketing. I’ve defined a couple of new techniques myself: dropped link building, hacked link building.

As time passes, building relevant links becomes more difficult. You can still build cheap links but they don’t pass value or can get you in troubles. If you want to get good links nowadays the best way is to push out good content (in different forms: textual, video, visual) and being good at promoting it.

Do you Pinterest for your business, what kind of pinterest tools you use?

At the moment I’ve no projects using Pinterest.

How Do You Conduct An SEO Experiment & What you do when you get your client’s project. First thing you would do is ?

I’m not sure I’ve understood the question. Anyway, when doing consulting for a new client I usually start looking at how the site shows up in Google by using advanced operators (site:, inurl:, ecc), look at Anlaytics reports and verify the site in Google webmaster tools to have more information about duplications and errors. I open the website only after having looked at SERPs and start searching for common issues (faceted navigations, paginations, cookie served content, session IDs).

What kind of SEO Tools you are using right now.  Can you tell us ?

I use Majestic SEO for link analysis, Screaming Frog for sites crawling, and a number of Chrome plugins (Scraper, Redirect Path, Web developer, SEO Quake, Check my links).

Do you use Blackhat SEO techniques  in a white hat SEO way , Like scrapebox  & Xenu’s Link Sleuth ?

I use Xenu (that’s a crawling tool) but I don’t use Scrapebox, even if I know it has a lot of interesting features to be used also in whitehat way (I’d suggest this tutorial by Chris Dyson)

What is the best & worst thing you would like to say about my bloggersideas blog. Please be open to this question ?

The best thing is there’s lot of interesting content to dig in and learn from. I haven’t found something really bad on the site: it looks clean, works well on smartphones and ads are not invasive. Good job.

Interview with SEO Marketer James Reynolds: Sharing Traffic Increasing Strategies

[ad_1]

As part of our BloggersIdeas interview series, today we have James Reynolds, the founder of Veravospecialists in helping business owners get more traffic and make more sales. His company provide traffic services and training that help increase the overall responsiveness and profitability of your online marketing

Lets explore with James about his expertise.

Interview with James Reynolds

First of all thanks a lot for coming on my blog James, you made my day by accepting my interview request. Tell me something about yourself and your educational background ?

I’m a British expatriate living in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. I landed up in Dubai after moving with a photography studio in 2006. I was general manager for the photography business, and that was my only job after leaving college. College wasn’t great for me, I dropped out twice.

What are your plans for the future?

Continue to grow a kick ass traffic agency. I love life in Dubai and can see myself based here for a while longer.

What’s the next move for your company and what can we expect to see in the near future?

Historically we’ve been an organic search agency, but recently we’ve been investing more in our paid search division called Click Jam. I’ve taken on a key hire to head up this division and we are now better positioned to deliver fully integrated campaigns across several channels. Within our core services we offer organic search (SEO Sherpa) and Pay-Per-Click on Google, Facebook, Yahoo and a few other select platforms (Click Jam).

How to optimize 404 page errors on websites?

Keep a close eye on your Google Webmaster Tools account for any issues Google has crawling your site. Most often you would deal with 404 errors (not found pages) by redirecting the not found URL to another relevant URL on your site. This will ensure you don’t lose visitors who try to visit your site via ‘dead’ URL. You can set up search engine friendly 301 redirects via the HT Access file on your website’s server.

Additionally I recommend you add a custom 404 error page for your site. Hint –  these pages are great for collecting leads, so consider putting an offer/opt in bribe on your 404 page. LeadPages have a great 404 error page template for this purpose.

Google Recently launched Panda and many big businesses got badly affected by it, did any of your sites got affected by it ?

Thankfully few (if any) of our customers were affected by Panda. The Panda update devalued low-quality website’s with thin content. Our customers are typically larger established businesses with substantial sites.

We did however have some customers affected by Google Penguin. In all cases these companies had worked with other agencies in the past who had implemented various manipulative link building campaigns. When Google refreshed the algorithm to filter the spammy links the sites lost ranking and impression share.

We were able to recover the website’s results by balancing out their link profile with good links.

What is the reason behind your Blogging success ?

Consistency. Most blogs fail because they lack stick sticktoitiveness.

How to increase your facebook shared post reach to your audience ? Any ideas.

Aside from share-worthy content, making your snippet appealing is important. Include a custom Facebook share image formatted to the size required for news feed and write a compelling title and description. When your link looks appealing you will get you more clicks and shares. Buzz Feed do this very well.

Without Knowing Much About Technology, How Can I Launch an Online Service Platform?

Work with specialist who do know about technology. One of the biggest challenges for entrepreneurs is doing it all themselves. No successful person ever made it on their own.

How Can I Turn Price-Sensitive Shoppers Into Customers. Any uggestions in comparison to Zopper.com(company where I work )?

A couple of tips I got from my friend Ezra Firestone that will help to increase conversions ;-

1. Add a “why buy from us?” page on your site.

2. Use video on your products pages explaining features and benefits and what they can expect after they order.

3. Beneath the cart button add your USP’s.

How to handle guest post spam request ?

I don’t accept guest posts on my site’s so I just reply with no ?

Matt cutts is now against guest blogging. Would you still prefer guestblogging. What to do best in guest blogging ?

I love guest blogging and do as much as I can. But, guest blogging is not (directly) an SEO activity.  What Matt Cutts is against (and rightly so) is people using guest blogging, generally on low-quality sites as a way of building backlinks.

Use guest blogging to grow your reach by getting in front of other people’s audiences. Target website where your market hangs out and write your very best content for them. This will expose you to new people who may later become customers or subscribers.

What are the risks involved in Entrepreneurship Please tell us ?

There are many, but with higher risk comes higher reward.

Suppose if you were not SEO geek today, what you would be then.

A rugby player. I played for Northampton Saints who are the current English Premiership champions until I was 20 years old.

Interview with Tony John from Techulator and Indiastudychannel.com:Sharing Top SEO Strategies

[ad_1]

As part of our BloggersIdeas interview series, today we have Intellectual Tony John sir Founder of techulator, indiastudychannel.com & many other blogs. Today he will be sharing his knowledge on SEO marketing strategies, blog marketing & blog engagement strategies. He has wide range of  experience with  traffic generation, Affiliate management  & has worked with many big brands.

So lets get started with Tony sir.

Tony John Founder of techulator, indiastudychannel.com

Thank you Jitendra, for inviting me to this interview. I’m glad to spend some time with you and your readers and share whatever I learnt so far.

Thank you Tony Sir, for your time. Let me get started straight away. How long have you been blogging?

I started my first blog in 1998, without knowing it is going to be called a blog. In fact, it was created just for fun and I was posting my personal achievements and experience there. I never thought it would evolve as a big business eventually.

1998 to 2014 – that’s a long journey! I don’t think there are any other Indian bloggers who have that much experience to claim. How do you feel about your blogging life so far?

Yes, it’s an eventful journey indeed. Blogging went through a lot of changes in the last one decade. When I started, it was called “web log” and the term “blog” came up later. There was no term called “search engine optimization” at that time, even though we were applying various strategies to rank our websites better.

During the early stages, we all blogged for fun and with passion. There were no monetary benefits involved. Even in wildest dreams, I never thought I could make money out of it. Google introduced AdSense program in 2003 and that changed my life. Once I started using AdSense, I realised the true potential of blogging. Within next few years, I started several new blogs and many of them are getting millions of page views per month.

Niche site vs Authority Site. Which is best and why? What are the pros and cons of both?

That depends on your goals. If your goal is develop an authority site, then that’s what you need to aim for. If your goal is money, then the situation is a bit tricky. Authority sites are very hard to build, operate and maintain. For example, my blog Techulator.com is pretty popular and gets good traffic. But my cost to build this blog was pretty high. It took years of hard work and dedication to bring that blog into its current state.

However, in case of niche blogs like HondaMobilio.in, it takes just a few days of efforts and then virtually no running costs. So, in terms of ROI, niche blogs are generally preferable, unless you have a big budget and long term strategies.

However, in case of authority blogs, if you succeed in building credibility and traffic, you could make really good money in the long run. Advertisers are willing to spend huge money on well established blogs.

How people react when they know you are Internet Entrepreneur?

I have had a lot of experience. Many times, it is very hard to convince people about my profession. Most people won’t understand what I do and when they do understand, they would want to quit their job and start a blog!

Recently, I visited a few designer houses in our city to get some ideas for building our own home. One of those house owners asked me about my profession and he could not understand anything about it. At the end, he asked just one question:

So, your father would has earned enough for you build a house, right?”. It was the first time someone asked me that question on my face but many others would have thought the same in their mind. It is hard to convince people about making money from internet.

Please tell us about yourself and your educational background ?

I am coming from a typical Kerala village. I had never seen a computer until I joined my Masters in Computer Applications course. I possess B.Sc in Physics, B.Ed in Physics and MCA degrees.

Is the future for link building dark or is link building dead already? If it’s alive, then your 2 cents on the best link building practices?

Most of the common link building strategies no longer work. Unfortunately, majority of the SEO service providers are not aware of the changes in the SEO world. They still depend on the old ways of blog commenting, forum commenting and guest posting.

Currently, link building still works but has to be done very carefully and slowly. Guest posting is the most efficient method which will work, if and only if done in a very limited manner.

How important is the ratio between followed and nofollowed links?

It’s hard to read Google’s mind! They never revealed anything about this. According to my experiments, there is no fixed ratio. It depends on several other factors and overall ranking of the site. In some cases, Google would count the no-follow links as well and in some other cases, it doesn’t. Personally, I never care for the do-follow or no-follow. When I try to get a link from other sites, I do not specify whether it has to do-follow or no-follow. I will leave it to the other website to decide what kind of link to give.

Suppose today a freelancer started giving his own digital marketing services, what all strategies he should apply to get his website successful ?

If someone is offering digital marketing strategies, the first thing he has to do is, market his own business very well. In fact, I do get a lot of emails offering SEO services. I usually ask them how do their own websites rank in Google search results. They won’t respond to me after that!

A digital marketing person should be able to apply the best SEO practices on his own website and get it in the top few results of Google search for his keywords. A strong social media profile and a good portfolio to prove his work history are really important.

How to increase brand presence on social media, when someone says negatives about your brand , how should brand organizers should react ?

That’s a challenge faced by many big brands. The big brands have limitations on going after every comment about them and explain their stand. That’s where the PR companies come into picture. In many cases, some one would have some personal issues on a big brand and might choose to post negative remarks everywhere. A PR company could follow all discussions about their clients and could explain the reality behind it.

How did you enter into blogging, why did you choose blogging over your IT career. What kind of experiences you have while working in IT company ?

I started blogging just out of curiosity to check out how the web works. I was living in USA at that time and I had plenty of free time in the guest house where I was staying. One of my friends showed me his personal website and that’s where I got started with my first blog.

I was working as a software consultant at that time. Blogging was a hobby which I was doing at my free time. I started making money from it by 2004 and by about 2010, I started making more money from blogging than my prestigious job in USA as a software architect.

When I was working in the software field, I was focusing on programming and technology related blogs. Every day, I learnt new things at work, which I translated into blogs when I come home in the evening. Also, for the sake of blogging, I learnt a lot new things, which helped me in the job. Thus, by blog and job mutually helped each other to perform better in both the fields.

In 2011, I quit my job in USA and returned to India, after living there for more than a decade. I decided not to work anymore in the IT field and chose to live a semi-retired life to live the life in the way I want it.

How is your life after returning to India?

Well, I faced a few challenges after returning to India. Since I was away from the country for more than 10 years, lot of things looked unfamiliar to me. I had to re-learn how to deal with everyday problems like dealing with government offices, utilities etc. In US, life is a lot more fun and people enjoy their life. In India, most people are struggling to live a decent life and having fun is nothing more than watching a movie or visiting a shopping mall.

I’m not talking about the elite class who enjoy everything in life, but I am referring to the common men and women. My children had a lot of trouble in adapting to our education system but everything fine now.

What advises you would give to newbie bloggers who wants to continue their blogging journey and want to quit their jobs for that? Is it easy to leave job & start blogging, what is your take on this?

Don’t quit your job just by seeing some dollars in your AdSense account. I quit my job after blogging for more than 13 years and also only after I earned enough from it. The AdSense income could stop anytime. Or, an algorithm change could wipe out the traffic of your blogs. Quitting a good job by seeing the short term revenue from your blogs wouldn’t be a wise decision. I have written an article that talks about my experience and some tips for those who like to quit their job to become a fulltime blogger.

There are thousands of people who attempted to make blogging their full time career but only a few became successful. I would strongly recommend you to try blogging as part time job for a few years and then make a decision. In my case, I am not making any extra money by switching to full time blogging. I was making pretty much the same revenue even when I was doing it part time.

How many websites you are having currently. How much money you are making from them ?

I’m currently running about 40 websites but only 5 of them are really active. My active blogs are www.techulator.com, www.indiastudychannel.com, www.dotnetspider.com,  www.aspspider.com, www.studyvillage.com etc. It may look odd to share the revenue reports publicly but let me tell you that I was making more money from my blogs than my salary as a software architect in a multinational company in USA. So, you can guess the figures. Many other professional bloggers are sharing their revenue reports.

You can compare their revenue and traffic statistics with my websites and come to some conclusion. IndiaStudyChannel.com is getting about 4 million pages per month and Techulator.com is getting about 600,000 page views per month. During the peak period, just one of my website – dotnetspider.com alone was making more money than my American salary!

Do you like to share your secret strategies with blogging community? Please tell us.

Yes, let me tell you my secret recipe of success – unique content. I usually write on everyday problems I encounter in my own life. I solve those problems and share the solution through my blog. Such articles are getting very good traffic.

Another important reason for my success in blogging is, I was lucky to have started early. I’m probably one of the first bloggers from India who started in late 90’s and that helped me establish my blogs before a lot of competition came into place.

I hope you enjoy this interview with Tony sirIf you have any questions  about this interview, please do ask in the comments below !

Interview with Ti Roberts Sharing Secrets For Improving Reader Engagement

[ad_1]

Hello Our Dear Readers, You are welcome to Second Interview section of this blog, the “Expert Chat” Section where we have a chat with the Tiroberts.com Author Tiroberts.  She is going to discuss various tricky questions related to SEO and Blogging. So I hope you Enjoy her interview on my blog. She really put her hard work on this interview so do share your reviews in comments section.

Ti Roberts Interview

First Of all Ti Roberts, Tell me something about yourself and also about your stunning blog!

Hi Jitendra,

First, I’d thank you for having me; I’m honored and really excited to be here!

Well, I’m the owner of The SEO Rebel blog and the creator of Top Bloggers Traffic.

I’ve been involved with internet marketing for over 8 years and I absolutely LOVE what I do!

On my blog I mainly focus on creating content about generating fast, sustainable traffic via social media, inbound marketing and evoking engagement from influencers.

What are your strategies for Google Hummingbird Update & did you see any drop in traffic of your site.

To be quite honest, I don’t really have any strategies for the Hummingbird update. I didn’t even know what the update entailed until about 2 weeks ago. LOL.

I just focus mainly on writing epic, valuable content and sharing it directly with my audience by leveraging the relationships I’ve built with my regular readers and other influencers in my niche.

Seeing as I don’t focus on organic search traffic anyway, I don’t get much traffic from targeted keywords and I didn’t really notice a drop or increase after the update.

Most of the search traffic that I get comes from searches for my name or brand, which is great as I’m more focused on building brand awareness rather than relying on search traffic.

What’s your specialty? Tell me about it.

I specialize in generating traffic via inbound marketing, directly engaging my audience and building relationships with my peers and other influeners in my niche.

In life and in business, I’ve learned that the only real leverage you have when you need help with something or want to accomplish a major goal is the relationships you have and the people that you know. So that’s what I focus 90% of my efforts on, building relationships. The other 10% is spent on creating high quality content that genuinely helps and educates my readers on a particular topic so that they feel compelled to share it with others.

From there, I let the viral nature of the snowball effect takeover to get more exposure and brand recognition. My ultimate goal is to become one of the biggest blog resources when it comes to inbound and relationship marketing.

How much traffic you generate from social media & how you use social media for your blog?

About 90% of my blog traffic is referral traffic from other blogs and social media. I use social media as a venue to engage my current audience and attract more readers. As well as a way to keep a steady stream of social traffic flowing throughout all of my posts, old and new. I’ve actually just got back into meticulously tracking my blog traffic. If you’re interested, you can see my latest traffic stats and numbers in my recent traffic report here.

What SEO strategies do you recommend?

I don’t really recommend any traditional SEO strategies.

I suggest that if you want to gain more organic search traffic, focus more on growing your brand by directly engaging your audience and mobilizing them to share your content on social media.

Three of the best ways to do this is by building relationships with your peers, engaging top bloggers in your niche and writing a lot of high quality guest posts on well-known blogs in your niche.

Oh yeah, here’s a good SEO tip your readers might enjoy…

If your goal is to get ranked high on Google for a competitive search term, say a popular tool that you’re an affiliate of, a fantastic way to do that is to host a giveaway for that specific tool/product/service on your blog and leverage the power of social media.

Have people who want to enter your giveaway share the giveaway post on social media: Twitter, Google+ or Facebook. I would suggest Twitter over the other two as Twitter’s social retweet signal seems to hold more weight for getting content ranked in Google.

All of the buzz around the giveaway post will catch Google’s eye and help you secure a top spot on Google for the keyword of the product/service, at least for a short while. Plus, your likely hood of generating affiliate sales will increase as a byproduct.

To further add some weight to this strategy, you can require people who enter the giveaway to comment on the post. Maybe ask them a specific question related to the thing you’re giving away so they can leave a substantive response – which will add more fresh social content to the post that Google likes as well.

Do you think 3rd party blog post links and ebook submissions are playing vital role these days?

Ebook submission is a good way to get more exposure and traffic to your site. I used to do this quite a bit last year when I relaunched my blog and it worked well for me. Getting third party links are also good, but you want to make sure that those links are high quality and are from authority, reputable sites you trust.

Is Author Rank is the latest technique of off page SEO? Do you think Google give preference to this?

I think it probably is and it would make sense for Google to give preference to their own stuff. However, I don’t put too much emphasis on it and I wouldn’t suggest that anyone else overly obsesses with it either. Just focus on writing valuable content and building relationships to get your content in front of your target audience and you’ll be fine.

What are some examples of how you have worked to sell your ideas in collaborative environments?

I think hosting free live webinars are a great collaborative environment to sell ideas, products or services. I used to hold live webinars years ago, but I haven’t done one in a while. However, I do plan on bringing them back in the near future.

One tip I want to give about hosting free live webinars is to NOT make them longer them longer than 20-30 mins.

An hour long webinar, especially for a busy blogger is just way too long. Try to condense your content into a short 25 minute lesson, no more than 3 main bullet points, packed with actionable content and value. And then, if you must, add a brief pitch at the end of the webinar for your paid product/service, no more than 5 minutes long.

Another good tip is to give an exclusive discount to only those who attended the webinar live. That would do good for boosting sales as well.

What Are Your Relationship Building and Outreach Skills?

In the blogosphere, everything starts with a blog comment. Once you’ve got a conversation going with a blogger in their comments, from there everything else is pretty simple.

If you want to get the full details and process of how I built my outreach strategy solely around commenting, I’ve created an entire blog commenting guide you can read here.

Do You Share Your Strategies Transparently With the SEO Community?

I sure do! I make it a practice to share everything that I do on a monthly basis to sustain and grow my blog. I feel that the best way to teach and help others is to let them learn from my experience and mistakes. Plus, it helps me to keep track of my activities, make changes where necessary and stay on the right path.
